The Public Works Trustee is a part-time elected voting member of the Executive Board.

Key Responsibilities
- Elected Board Member & Governance: Serves a two-year term following election at the regular spring election in even-numbered years. Participates as a voting member of the Board of Trustees to oversee village governance, enact local laws, and ensure that village ordinances are faithfully obeyed.
- Street & Infrastructure and Public Land Maintenance: Oversees village streets, bridges, curbs, streetlights, street signs, ravines, and lakefront public land.
- Snow Plowing & Winter Care: Manages snow removal contractors and oversees snow plowing policies across public village streets.
- Waste & Yard Waste Management: Manages waste management contractors.
- Permit Oversight: Serves as the primary contact for Driveway and Right-of-Way (ROW) permits, conditional use permits, and public land use permits.
- Village Facilities: Coordinates maintenance and upkeep of the Village Hall facilities.
- Planning Commission: Serves automatically on the Planning Commission.
- Board of Review: Serves automatically on the Board of Review.
